Give Yourself A Chance

"I am not flexible."  It's something I've said to myself ever since I couldn't reach the ruler on the Sit and Reach Flexibility Test in the first grade.  Saying these simple words to has been very limiting for me over the years.
Take a look at this photo of Haley.  She is flexible.  A non-flexible person may say, I can't do that because I am not flexible.  The only sure thing in this thought process is that you won't be able to do it because you've already decided you are not flexible enough.
What you may notice in training is that from time to time you surprise yourself with your abilities.
The premise of this post is to be aware of these limiting thoughts we have.  That's not to say they may not be true, but you can't be 100% certain either way until you try.
I'm not sure I could ever reach this position Hayley is in - but what I do know is that the only way to find out is to give myself a chance and try.
