Remembering Kevin

On Sunday January 19th, 2014, Kevin Rocha, our dear friend and Crossfit SCC gym mate left this world at the age of 24.  Kevin came to us from a very close family and group of friends in Lodi, California that he was entirely devoted to.  Crossfit Santa Cruz Central is so fortunate that Kevin found his way into our gym and our hearts.  Knowing Kevin has been a pleasure and honor for all of us who knew him and his passing has come too soon.  While our acquaintance with Kevin has been much too short, some of his great qualities have been apparent from the first time we met him.  Whether he knew you or not, Kevin was always quick with a smile, friendly, courteous, generous and encouraging, even while prone and breathless on the floor. While pacing himself might not have been one of his greatest strengths, his ability to enliven the mood was certainly one of them.  Not to mention the humble way he would quietly out lift the entire class without drawing the slightest bit of attention to himself.  Kevin, you are a wonderful person and you will be missed deeply.  Our hearts are heavy with you gone

There will be a brunch on Sunday, January 26th at 10am at the Point Chop House to celebrate Kevin's life.
