Anyone feel dehydrated today?  It was hot and this was a smoker of a workout.  Regardless of what studies say, because they tend to say a lot, doing some self experimentation can be helpful.  Daily water consumption is a good one.  Try drinking a lot of water, see how you feel.  See how you feel not drinking as much, you'll probably find you feel a lot better when you're consistent with your H2O consumption.  I honestly just like the way he says laboratory.
