Meet the Sunday Crew: Stephanie Luck
/Meet the Sunday Crew: Stefanie Luck
I asked Steph to share a little bit about herself and her relationship to the gym and Crossfit. Here is what she had to say:
How long have you been at Crossfit Santa Cruz Central? 8.5 years (will be 9 in June) What got you started? BGF Stacy Craig learned about Crossfit and encouraged me to start with her. I had no idea what I was getting myself into!
What is your favorite aspect of CrossFit? Definitely the community. My Crossfit family knows me better than I know myself.
What is your favorite workout? I have a love/hate relationship with them all! Elizabeth has always been tough for me, but as I have gotten stronger I can handle the weight a little easier. Still takes me forever to get through all those dips, but I like the challenge.
What do you do outside of the gym? I am director of HR at NVIDIA
Hobbies? My husband will say that Crossfit is everything to me, but I do find time for other things. I have a group of friends I've known since elementary and middle school. We find time to and train and prepare for an annual hike/trip.
What is your favorite gym music? I like all kinds of music, so hard to choose just one. I will say that Carmen's (I think she meant Josh's) music is currently my favorite for a Crossfit workout!
What is the most interesting thing we don't know about you? At 18 I went to work for the post office where I was a mail carrier for a few years. Definitely a good move for me because it is where I met my husband. :)
Anything else you might like to share? I know it may sound cliche, but Crossfit has definitely been a life changer for me. It has impacted all areas of my life.
Get your Paleo Nick order in! Cut off is noon Monday. Delivery is Tuesday in the afternoon.
Four 4-minute rounds with 2-minute rests in between. Separate the class into teams of two. Each team has 1 rowing machine to row as many calories as possible during the 4-minute rounds, one teammate rowing at a time. They can switch roles at any 30 second interval during the round. Also every 30 seconds, whoever is not on the rower must complete 3 back squats (135/185) during rounds 1 and 3, or 3 shoulder press (75/115) during rounds 2 and 4. The score is the team's calories rowed. Bonus: Each team gets a 2 minute round on the assault bike to ride for calories, switching every 30 seconds.
