What's your Why?

   A lot of the time, the things we do in the gym can be difficult. Often times we may wonder why it is that we even do Crossfit, but whenever its over, we remember why. 
   This morning, a handful of us crazy Crossfitters decided to row a marathon (42,195 meters). When you're two hours in to a three hour workout, it helps to know your why. The last 30 minutes of this workout got pretty tough, but I know it would have been much tougher in a different environment. It helped tremendously to have friends rowing by my side and even more friends cheering us on. Watching a bunch of people get their fitness on over four classes this morning and watching the Crossfit Games on TV helped as well. The community at this gym is a big part of why I do these challenging things day after day. I also want to prove to myself that I am capable of so much more than I often believe.
   What is your why? When your halfway through a brutal workout and everything is hurting and you're uncomfortable and all you have to do to feel comfortable again is stop, why do you keep going? For your family? For your kids? For yourself, because you deserve it? To prove someone wrong? Because you know it makes you better? 
   I'm not telling you that there is a right or wrong reason, I just want to know what is YOURS?
