Shoulder Shelves and Leg Drives

photo-1939photo-905 In the top photo Nancy shows a great shelf position to push press from. Her shoulders are lifted and forward, for the bar to rest on, and her head is pulled back, leaving a nice straight path for the bar to travel upwards on. In the second photo Leo demonstrates beautifully the idea of "jumping" the dumbbells off of his shoulders. You can tell he has started the dumbbell's upward motion with a big leg drive and good hip extension.
