What's Really Going On?

Here's an interesting article (thanks Nathan) published in The New York Times about incidences of rhabdo from intense exercise, and CrossFit isn't being attacked!  I guess spinning and P90X are dangerous too? The article also makes some good points about how to prevent from incurring rhabdo.  Click the link below to see the article.

Workout:

With a partner, 50 minutes to row 10,000 meters, one person rowing at a time. Partners switch whenever they like. Additionally each partner deadlifts 4,000/5,000#'s worth of reps and lift 2,000/2,500#'s shoulder to overhead. Athletes choose their own weights and can complete reps while their partners are rowing.  Once the 10k is complete and all weight lifted, the teams spend the remaining time completing max rep double under attempts. Their score is their combined best unbroken sets of double unders.
