High or Low

We talked a bit today about the two different types of back squat; the high bar and the low bar. The main point that we focused on is where we want the barbell when we squat, regardless of which version we do. We want to try to maintain the barbell over the middle of the foot. Notice that in both of these photos, the athletes have the barbell over the middle of their foot. One is high bar and one is low bar. Can you tell which is which? (Hint: look at the shin angle.)

If you guessed Shari (on the left) is driving up from a low bar and Eli (on the right) is at the bottom of his high bar you guessed right! 

Workout: 

Back Squat every 2  minutes
5 reps the first 2 min
4 reps the next 2 min
3 reps the next 2 min
2 reps the next 2 min
1 rep in the last 2 min

5 DB Front Squats (30/40#)
7 Burpees
